Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the rating Republican on the Judiciary Committee, is the most recent ally of President Donald Trump to name for Schiff, who has been main Home Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into the President and Ukraine, to supply testimony.
The Home Judiciary Committee will then maintain its first listening to on Wednesday to think about articles of impeachment, with a panel of knowledgeable witnesses testifying.
“In the beginning, the primary individual that should testify is Adam Schiff. Adam Schiff is the creator of this report,” Collins advised Fox’s Chris Wallace on “Fox Information Sunday.” He stated if Schiff “chooses to not testify, then I actually query his veracity and what he is placing in his report.”
“There’s nothing to testify about. I believe if the President or his allies within the Senate persist it means they aren’t critical about what they’re doing,” Schiff advised Tapper. “What would I provide by way of testimony that I heard Dr. (Fiona) Hill in open listening to say such and such? That’s not pertinent. The one motive for them to undergo with that is to mollify the President and that’s not a superb motive to attempt to name a member of Congress as a witness.”
